Certificate in ManagementA Certificate in Management is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) with training delivered by Pera Innovation. Pera have been providing support for business for over 60 years – see www.pera.com The Certificate in Management requires the learner to attend all workshops and complete 8 modules – these will be held at a local training venue. The Certificate in Management is intended for the manager who needs to develop and maintain their managerial skills so that they will be able to:
- motivate and develop the people who work in a team or department
- communicate to all people in the team in an assertive and effective manner
- learn about your own strengths and weaknesses and identify where and how you can personally develop as a more effective manager
- understand the principles of managing in a modern and reactive business environment
NVQ3 or 4 in Management
Both the NVQ 3 and 4 in Management are awarded by the Institute of Leadership and Managment (ILM) with training and assessment carried out by Pera Innovation.
These qualifications cover management responsibility from line managers to senior managers with optional units for managers who, in addition to their general management responsibilities, are involved in quality or energy management. At level 4 there are also options for those involved in managing projects.
The qualifications are made up of either mandatory units alone – all of which must be completed – or mandatory units plus optional units. The structure of each individual qualification is detailed in the NVQ section.
Management NVQ level 3 is suitable for managers and supervisors who have:
- a tightly defined area of responsibility
- some limited opportunity for taking decisions and managing budgets
- responsibility for achieving specific results by using resources effectively
- responsibility for allocating work to team members, colleagues or contractors
Management NVQ level 4 is suitable for managers who are responsible for:
- allocating work to others
- achieving specific results by using resources effectively
- carrying out policy in their defined area of authority
- controlling limited financial budgets
- contributing to broader activities such as change programmes and recruitment
